Brass saddles for Strat....

Morning all!
Great to see a new site up and running in the UK...

So, has anyone ever tried brass saddles and trem blocks?
I've a US Strat Plus from the late 80's and wondered if there were any replacements available.... Not much from google so here I am!
Have seen a few famous faces using them (The Edge being one...).
Any news I'd be greatful.

Had a quick look around for you but to no avail, the only information I found was somebody in america who owned a small CNC machine was milling the saddles himself.
Be nice to know what the benefits are to it, and why they're so hard to find.

I think the use of brass saddles was kind of felt to be unnecessary with the advent of Fender's new sintered metal saddles (like on the US standard series). I've never heard of brass trem blocks but I did read about a company making a milled solid steel block which was supposed to be very good. It might be worth trying one of the parts suppliers like Rainbow of Touchstone.

Cheers for that, just seen a review of some tele versions by the same company in this months "Guitarist"...
...double shame though.... the strat sets are SOLD OUT!! and £150!!! affraid

Can't see from the picture if they are the twin post variety or vintage so inquiries will be made.

I think if you email them they will do just the saddles if your interested in doing that, not sure on price though,
And they mill all their own products so should be able to cater to your needs.

I'm definitely investing in some control knobs mind, they're expensive but look sexy Smile
