Has anybody fitted the Black Ice device to a guitar?
It's some kind of passive booster and I'd like to know what they sound like.

Is it anything like the old Fender TBX tone control? I'm interested to hear how any passive device can actually boost a signal. The TBX tone control was basically a twin ganged pot with a very high resistance pot ganged with a low resistance pot. The idea was that with the tone turned fully up the signal was presented with the very high resistance pot and so less of the very high frequency content of the signal leaked to earth via the pot, as would happen with a normal 250k or 500k pot. In that way it seemed like the high frequency contend was being boosted, but it was actually just losing less of it.
